Car brakes are essential safety components of a vehicle, allowing the driver to slow or stop the car securely. The majority of the modern cars in Orange are equipped with disc brakes, anti-lock brakes, and drum brakes.

Anti-lock brakes are a type of automobile braking system that prevents the wheels from locking up during hard braking, allowing for greater control and maneuverability of the vehicle. The system uses small sensors mounted on each wheel to detect wheel speed. When sudden or hard braking is detected, the system will rapidly pulse the brakes many times per second in order to prevent the wheels from locking up.

The disc brake consists of a metal rotor attached to the wheel and a caliper mounted near the rotor that contains brake pads that press against the rotating disc when braking is applied, slowing down or stopping the vehicle. The calipers can be either single or dual piston design, and there are many variations of disc brake components, such as drilled rotors or slotted rotors.
